Florida Run 2026: Blackleaf Hits Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami in One Weekend

First Smoke of the Day is heading south for the Florida Run, a three-stop sprint across the state on October 16, 17 and 18. Blackleaf leads the charge, repping FSOTD at every stop and bringing back the footage, the conversations, and the clutch commentary on what’s actually smoking.

Florida has been building something for a while now. The medical market keeps expanding. The culture side keeps getting louder. Legacy heads, licensed operators, glass artists, and hash makers are all sharing the same rooms down there. That blend does not happen everywhere. So we’re heading into the field to see it up close and personal.

Here’s what the weekend is looking like.

Friday, October 16: Tampa

The run kicks off in Tampa on Friday night. Tampa has quietly become one of the more active cannabis culture hubs in Florida. Dab Day Productions runs its flagship 710 festival there every July, and the city has a deep bench of glass artists, brands, and sesh organizers who keep things moving year round.

Blackleaf opens the weekend here before heading north. Venue, brand partners, and ticket details are still being finalized. Watch the FSOTD Instagram for the drop, because these things move fast and Tampa rooms fill up.

Saturday, October 17: Jacksonville at Dab Day

Saturday is the anchor. Blackleaf pulls into Jacksonville for the Dab Day Annual Halloween Festival, held at The Glass Factory and Myrtle Ave Brewing. VIP admission opens at 4 PM. General admission and VIP both run from 5 PM.

Dab Day Productions has been doing this since 2014, and the Halloween edition leans all the way into the theme. The lineup includes live music, a full vendor marketplace, live art and glassblowing demonstrations, costume contests, interactive activations and what the organizers are calling spooky surprises. The music lineup announcement is still pending.

The venue choice matters here. The Glass Factory and Myrtle Ave Brewing sit in the same pocket of Jacksonville's Brooklyn area, which gives the event indoor and outdoor space to spread across. Dab Day has a track record of using that kind of layout well.

Expect Blackleaf to be deep in the vendor market on this one. Costume contests and glassblowing demos make for good content, but the real story usually sits at the tables where growers and brand owners are talking shop.

Sunday, October 18: Miami

The weekend closes in Miami. It’s undeniable that Miami brings a different energy than Tampa or Jacksonville. The city runs on its own clock, and the cannabis scene there reflects that. More international influence. More crossover with music, fashion and nightlife. Different crowd, different conversations.

Why FSOTD Is Making the Trip

First Smoke of the Day built its reputation on showing up and being authentic to the game. That is the whole model. Blackleaf gets in the room, sits down with growers, breeders, hash makers and brand owners, and lets the conversation go where it goes. The podcast has run more than 200 episodes on that approach, covering everything from pheno hunts to underground markets to what it actually takes to build a genetics program.

Florida is a market worth documenting right now. It sits in an unusual spot. The medical program is one of the largest in the country by patient count, but adult use has not landed yet. That tension creates a specific kind of scene, one where licensed operators and legacy culture overlap more than they might in a mature recreational state.

Three events in three cities across three days gives us a real cross section of that. Not a single snapshot from one festival, but a read on how the culture shifts as you move around the state. Blackleaf projects a turnout of 3,000+ attendees for the 710 Dab Day event alone. All three events combined, we’re looking at potentially over 5,000+ heads pulling up.
