The Biscotti strain earned that status with a rare mix of dessert sweetness, dark roasted depth, and a high that might let creativity and relaxation work together.

Connected Cannabis Co. created the Biscotti strain in 2016. The team wanted to find the next great evolution of the Gelato family. So they crossed Gelato 25, a standout Gelato pheno with Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Cookies roots, with the dense, gassy South Florida OG.
The idea was simple. Pair the smooth, subtle power of Gelato with the loud intensity of South Florida OG and see what balance came out. Connected ran the pheno hunt the classic way, in red cups. The team narrowed the field to four standout phenos, labeled RC14, RC25, RC27, and RC28, before landing on the winner.
For years, many people credited Biscotti to Cookies and Berner. The real story sits in between. According to Caleb Counts, Connected launched the breeding project and a Connected team member helped make the cross. Berner joined the pheno hunt, named the winning cut, and pushed it into the spotlight through Cookies.
Counts has admitted he didn't love the name at first. He told GreenState his first reaction was to question naming it after "a flavorless dry cookie." The name stuck anyway, and the culture ran with it.
The marketing partnership between Connected and Cookies eventually ended, but the genetics stayed home. Connected kept the Biscotti strain as one of its flagship cuts. The rest is history.
Biscotti didn't stay a California secret for long. The name showed up in more hit songs than Connected can count. That hip-hop hype turned a single cut into a household name and helped give Connected its wings as a brand. Today, you'll also find Biscotti crosses and seed-bank versions everywhere, but the original Connected cut remains the reference point.
The Biscotti strain brings undeniable bag appeal. Look up the term in the dictionary and there might be a photo of Biscotti shown. The buds grow dense and tight, thanks to that South Florida OG backbone. Deep green leaves fade into rich purple, and bright orange pistils weave through the calyxes.
A heavy layer of trichomes coats every nug and gives the flower a frosty, almost silver sheen. Squeeze a bud and it barely gives. Break it apart and the resin clings to your fingers. Expect a sticky grind and a slow, even burn.
Open a jar of the Biscotti strain and the room fills dummy fast. Sweet, doughy cookie notes hit first. Then the darker side comes through with roasted coffee, cocoa, and damp earth. Here's the fun part. Connected says Biscotti's terpene profile shifts from batch to batch more than any other strain it grows. Some drops lean sweeter and more Gelato. Others lean darker, spicier, and more OG. That variety keeps longtime Biscotti fans coming back to see what the next batch brings.

FLUENT serves as the exclusive provider of Connected's brands in the state. Counts said the goal was to bring the same standards and quality to one of the most discerning markets in the country.
